Senso
Multi-academy trusts

Senso is built for the MAT from the ground up

A single Senso environment covers every school in a education group. Central safeguarding and filtering policy. School-level access boundaries. Group-wide reporting. No school-by-school deployments, and no separate product for single schools, because Senso works just as well for one school as for thirty.

How Senso works across a trust

Central control. Local autonomy. School-level capability.

Each capability below explains a specific aspect of how Senso is structured for multi-academy trust deployment.

Central visibility across all schools

Trust IT directors and safeguarding leads see the full picture across every school in the trust, including device estate, safeguarding activity and operational metrics, from a single console. No logging into separate school instances. No aggregating data manually. Trust-level visibility is built in from the start, not retrofitted.

Multi-school management โ†’

Delegated administration with role-based access

Access in Senso is role-based and scoped at the data level. School administrators, safeguarding leads and IT managers each see their school only. Trust leads see all schools. Roles are assigned and managed centrally. When a new school joins the trust or a staff member changes role, access is updated in one place; there are no per-school permission sets to maintain separately.

Multi-school management โ†’

Consistent safeguarding and filtering policy from the top

Trust leadership sets the safeguarding keyphrase policy and web filtering rules centrally. Every school in the trust inherits that policy as the baseline. Schools cannot fall below the trust standard. Filtering categories, safeguarding thresholds and Assisted Monitoring configuration are all managed at trust level, ensuring no school is inadvertently operating with weaker protections than the trust requires.

Safeguarding Monitoring โ†’

Local autonomy, school-level exceptions and teacher permissions

Within the trust framework, schools retain the ability to configure local exceptions within defined limits. A school can allow additional websites for a specific curriculum purpose, or a teacher can apply a lesson-level web restriction without overriding the trust policy. The trust sets the ceiling and floor; schools and teachers operate within that space. Local autonomy is permitted without compromising the trust-level standard.

Web Filtering โ†’

Consolidated reporting and dashboards

Trust-level reporting aggregates data across all schools, including safeguarding event volumes, device health, filtering activity, asset status and service desk performance. School leaders see their own school's data in the same format. Both trust and school reporting draw from the same underlying data; there is no separate reporting tool or manual export process required.

Multi-school management โ†’

Scales as the trust grows

When a new school joins the trust, it is added to the existing Senso tenant. Policy is inherited from the trust framework immediately. There is no new deployment project, no new contract and no new support relationship to establish. Senso scales with the trust rather than requiring re-procurement as the estate grows.

Deployment model

What makes Senso different for a multi-academy trust

One tenant, all schools

Every school in the trust is on a single Senso tenant. There is no separate deployment, licensing or contract per school.

Trust-level and school-level policy

Set safeguarding and filtering policy at trust level. Schools apply permitted local exceptions within the central framework.

School-boundary data access

School safeguarding leads see their school only. Trust-level leads see all schools. Access enforced at data level, not by honour system.

Trust-wide and school-level reporting

Trust leadership views aggregate data across all schools. School leaders view school-level data. Both in the same platform.

One platform across all schools

One Senso platform with platform-specific deployment components covers all solution families across the entire device estate.

Scales with MAT growth

New schools added to the trust are added to the same Senso tenant. No new deployment. No new contract. Policy inherited from the trust framework.

Role-based access

Who sees what, across the trust

Trust CEO / Executive

High-level safeguarding summary and operational metrics across all schools.

Trust Safeguarding Lead

All safeguarding events across all schools. Can see school-level drill-down.

Trust IT Director

Full device estate, asset inventory and IT operations across all schools.

School Headteacher

Safeguarding and IT summary for their school only.

School child safety lead

All safeguarding events for their school only. No access to other schools.

School IT Manager

Device management and IT operations for their school only.

Teacher

Their own classroom sessions only. No safeguarding or IT data.

Access boundaries are configurable. Contact Senso for trust-specific role configuration options.

Single schools

Senso works for a single school just as well as for a trust

There is no separate Senso product for single schools. A school that is not part of a multi-academy trust uses the same platform with the same capabilities, without the trust-level administration layer. All the classroom management tools, safeguarding monitoring, filtering, IT operations, asset management and service desk capabilities are available to a single school on the same platform.

  • Same platform, same features, single school or trust
  • No scaled-down version for smaller estates
  • Schools that later join a trust do not change platforms
  • Pricing scales by school and device count, not by structure type
